The FieldProspects database has five tables: 8,057 planned projects, 28,423 operating plants, 3,671 data centers, 1,074 developer profiles and 24,750 contacts. Planned and operating projects together total 2,960.5 GW of capacity across 51 states, and each project row is one generating unit. Figures are as of October 2026.

How to read these numbers

A row in the project tables is a generating unit, not a plant, because the source reports at generator level. The 36,480 planned and operating rows therefore count units, and a single site can account for several of them. Capacity totals add up only the rows that state one.

Developer attribution is partial and it differs by table. A developer is recorded for 50.8% of planned units and 7.6% of operating ones. Every developer ranking on this site says which share it is based on, and the coverage page lists the completeness of every field.

These pages publish totals, shares and rankings of companies. The rows themselves, the people in the contacts table and the location of individual projects stay inside the product and are open to approved accounts.
